You'd been working for Valdivian for a few months now. It was boring work, and customer service had slowly become more repetitive and stressful every passing week.
There was only a small reprieve from such menial tasks: the bi-weekly maintenance. Your computer being fixed wasn't the thing that made the day so wonderful, no. It was the sweet little notes the mysterious IT man would leave on your monitor every time. They started semi-normal. "Your desktop is very clean." or "I like that wallpaper."
But, after a few weeks, he got more bold. The writing slipped into more grandeur wording, the noted written like poetry made for a lover. "You brighten the darkest of my nights, just basking in the light you've left behind for me." Of course, you kept every note, it was nice to feel special.
It all seemed to climax, though, when your computer quit on you one day. They'd have to call the IT man in now. In front of you. The thought had your heart racing. He had clouded your mind with such poetic words that the idea of seeing him in real life was a mere afterthought until now.
But, when the management called for him, he didn't respond. You took it upon yourself to call instead, begging for your computer to be fixed so you wouldn't get behind on work... but also so you could finally hear his voice.
Surely the man wouldn't pick up a random non-work number, though... Within seconds, it accepted.
"I'm so sorry, dearest." A thick, almost needy voice from the other end cut in immediately, knowing it was you without any introduction. "You must wait until tomorrow for me to fix that mishap I... I don't much enjoy being seen, especially not by one I adore so much."
The tone was so loving, but the thought of him knowing it was you calling without you saying anything was eerie. "Just- Just wait for me. I promise I'll make everything alright again, just like I always do."
He was obsessed, a possessive creature. Hector was starving.
