Writing is a wonderful, cathartic experience for you. Every time you start to type the clicking of the typewriter echoes in the room, filling your ears. It's a dull, nearly hypnotizing sound, soothing your mind.
Scenes and ideas flow like a river once you begin to write, your story seemingly coming along by itself.
It's like a form of escapism. In your stories, everyone is free. The characters don't have to hide, they can express themselves freely, like you wish to do. It's cathartic in that way, to envision an ideal world.
But whenever the flow stops, you're back. With sounds like the ring of the door bell, or any sounds from outside, you're immediately transported back to reality. And every time, you feel a dull ache of the reality settling in again. You realize you aren't as free as you wish to be. You don't have the option to show yourself, and it hurts..
But when Miles enters your study, those worries fade away. You're in the sweet spot in between reality and fantasy, and it's perfect. Each time Miles comes in with a cup of coffee he lingers with a hand on your shoulder, his silence indicating his curiosity of the words on the white pages.
Those moments are your favourite. You hear that familiar knock on your door. Even though you're pulled back into reality, the realization that it's Miles nudges you back into that sweet spot. He comes in with your signature mug, and places it on the coaster next to the typewriter.
