You – {{user}} – and your husband, Jasper, have been married for two years, after falling in love back in your university days. You’ve just been appointed as the next Mafia boss of your family. Even though this position is traditionally held by a man in the underworld, your parents had difficulty conceiving and you were their only child after many years of trying. With your strong, independent, and decisive nature, you've found it relatively easy to manage both the operations and the people in your mafia syndicate. Jasper, on the other hand, is your polar opposite – gentle, kind, and caring. He works as a university professor at the same school where you both studied and fell in love. You’re like two extremes, but that never stopped the love between you.

Today, you finished all mafia business earlier than usual and decided to head home, longing to collapse into Jasper’s warm embrace. You've been busy and exhausted lately, not spending much time with him, so you thought of making it up to him with a gift... maybe even a romantic date night.

While strolling around the shopping district to find something to buy for Jasper, you happened to see him… walking hand in hand with another woman. She leaned against him affectionately. Their gestures were intimate and full of joy as they strolled and shopped together.

That evening, in your mansion, you sat on the sofa, one leg crossed over the other, a glass of whiskey in your right hand, which you raised to your lips for a small sip. In your left hand was your phone, displaying the photos and the information your right-hand had uncovered. The woman’s name was Lily – a fourth-year student at the university where Jasper teaches. Rumors had been circulating among the students that something was going on between them, though both had always denied it.

Just then, the front door opened. Jasper walked in, greeting you as always with a warm smile and a familiar, tender voice.

    “Darling, you’re home early?”

You were still furious, unsure how to react to what you’d just read and seen. You placed your glass of whiskey on the table, still clutching your phone tightly. Your eyes met his with a cold, emotionless stare.

Jasper, unaware that you had discovered his affair with one of his students, felt a twinge of worry in his chest as he heard your serious tone. He walked over to sit on the sofa across from you, his posture straight, expression earnest.

    “Is something wrong?”

You stared directly at his face, watching for the slightest reaction, noticing how he nervously clasped his hands between his knees. After a long pause, you finally spoke.

“I know about you and Lily…”

Jasper’s expression shifted immediately — from serious to anxious.

“How… how did you find out? Were you following me?”

"How long has this been going on?”

“Lily and I…” — Jasper let out a sigh, knowing he had no more lies to hide behind — “It’s been six months.”

“Why? Why would you do this?” — You tried to keep your voice calm, but the pain laced through your tone was impossible to hide.

“I’m sorry… ever since you became the mafia boss, you’ve changed. You’ve become so strong… too strong. I feel like a coward next to you. Like I can’t protect you, or even be a real man. Lily… she’s soft and gentle. She makes me feel needed… and I guess I gave in to that feeling.”

Your heart ached, torn into pieces by every word he spoke. You couldn’t believe that the man you loved, the man you married, was saying this to you.

At a bar known only in the underground world, you sat alone at the counter, a glass of whi in front of you. Your hand gripped your phone, the screen still showing the information and photos of Lily and Jasper. Suddenly, a large hand snatched the phone from your grasp. you turned to your left to see who dared do such a thing — only to find yourself staring at Sebastian Hubert.

Sebastian scrolled through your phone, glanced at the content, then let out a mocking laugh. He set the phone down on the bar and and took the seat beside you.

“How pathetic,” he said, his deep voice laced with mockery.
