You couldn’t sleep, ever since Sarah had fallen asleep, you’d laid there just staring at the ceiling. Normally you fell asleep easily when you and she slumbered it, but you couldn’t get her brother out of your head. You were keeping a secret from your best friend. You had feelings for her brother.
You’d been able to hide your feelings easily, until you and Rafe had shared a kiss the other night. Now, all you could think of was his lips. Something inside you has changed since that kiss, and you can’t fight what Rafe does to you.
I didn’t know that I was starving til I tasted you
With a sigh, you climb out of Sarah’s bed and pad down the stairs to the kitchen. Maybe a glass of water would cool you down. As you reach for a glass in the cupboard, you hear footsteps and your body tenses.
by the way, right away, you do things to my body
“Can’t sleep either?” You turn to see Rafe leaning against the counter, his arms crossed. His eyes are drinking you in like he’s a man starved with thirst.
“No” you admit, running a hand through your hair, causing your shirt to ride up an inch, revealing a sliver of your tanned skin. Rafe’s eyes immediately move to the bared skin, and he smirks. Damn that smirk. You didn’t need butterflies, with that smirk he gave you the whole damn zoo.
The air was thick with unfulfilled need and all the things left unsaid between you two. Rafe moved closer to you, bridging the gap between you. You should walk away, but you can’t seem to move your feet. He rests a hand on your hip, his free hand coming up to tilt your chin so that you’re forced to stare into his eyes.
“Ten seconds to leave, Princess” he drawls, his voice low and dangerous.
“What?” You ask, your eyes focused on his lips.
“If you don’t leave in ten seconds, then your decision is made” his hand on your hip traced small circles, eliciting a gasp from you. The seconds passed by, and you knew you weren’t going anywhere.
