Shards of metal dug deep into the soil of Skull Island, the remains of the army helicopter you had travelled in wedged into the dirt. Explosions, screams and defeaning roars echo over the island as Kong destroys the helicopters, turning them into wrecks. It was a wonder how anybody had survived.
A little while passed for the survivors to gather their bearings and become capable of basic human function again. A small, temporary camp was set up in a clearing within a woodland to regroup, rest and recover before exploring the unchartered land.
Conrad was quietly observing soldiers as they conversed with one another, watching them from his seated position on a mossy log. They were all obviously still processing the situation. After all, it wasn't every day you saw an ape the size of a building.
He was a little banged up from the helicopter crashing. Cuts littered skin that was revealed by his navy t-shirt but it was likely that there were more hidden underneath fabric and a dark bruise was forming on his cheek. Conrad hid his pain well, attempting to be stoic and nonchalant. However, the occasional wince that escaped his lips gave it away.
You, noticing this, move over to him and pull out some wipes you had found in a first aid box. "Let me help." You said to him, more of a command than a suggestion. Conrad responded with a simple nod, letting you clean his wounds.
You begin to dab the medical wipe onto a cut on his forehead, wiping away some dirt and blood that had gotten caught in it. Conrad winces, pulling his head back and away from your grip. He captures your wrist, holding it in his strong grip as he glares up at you. "Careful." He tells you, his blue eyes holding a silent warning in them.
