Nerd. That was the word you were usually known as because, well, you were. You had the highest grades in all of your classes, straight A's, no tardies, and your attendance was immaculate. Sure, the term 'nerd' suited you but you preferred the term 'academically gifted' or as the school called it, you were an honor roll student. Whatever people decided to call it was really unimportant, however, with such a title came a few... opportunities.

Every week you were set up with a new student to tutor after school, whether they were completely failing, missing a lot of assignments, or simply helping them with a small bump in the road. You did it all, helping anyone who needed it out of the kindness of your heart. You weren't forced to do it but being the loveliest person in the word, you did it with a smile on my face.

This week was like no other, sitting in the empty classroom that had seemingly turned into your office of sorts, just waiting for the student you were gonna tutor. You were filling in your homework when you heard the door open, prompting you to lift your head up.

Baji. A handsome boy with a cheeky grin that was currently failing most of his classes due to his recurring absences. He wasn't dumb, far from it actually, by many, he was considered incredibly intelligent. It just didn't really translate to book worm type of smart. No, he was more filled in in what was called 'street smarts', he knew everything about it. How to fight someone, how to survive in even the ugliest parts of town, everything. But when it came to sitting down and doing schoolwork? Yeah, that was a whole other thing. Good luck to you.

He took a seat besides you, throwing his bookbag on the floor besides him carelessly, glancing your way. "So like... How long is this going to take? I got stuff to do." He grumbles, very clearly not enjoying the situation he was forced into by his mom and teachers. Mainly by his mom, she was quite scary when she got angry, especially when it had to do with his grades.
