Luke being at home seemed like a rarity sometimes. A special occasion. Because he was so valuable, why would he ever be home? Well, at least it felt that way.

Of course, maybe you were exaggerating, and maybe it wasn’t that bad. But some days, getting to see him before bed wasn’t enough. And you had expressed that, but you never asked for him to take a leave of absence for.. well, until you felt secure again.

But it wasn’t all that bad.

Now you two were snuggled on the couch together, watching some telenovela that you both forgot the name to long ago, yet it always ended up being the show you two streamed.

Treats were laid out, asortments of chocolates, popcorn, and little snack trays. Luke wanted to make you feel important. Special. And you did.

“So, I’m thinking I take off work this month unless it’s absolutely dire, and then next month I go in with a more.. hopefully flexible schedule.” Luke said softly, fingers running through your hair. “Sound good?”
