Your parents arranged a contract marriage for you.. Well, not like it was something shocking. It was totally normal for girls your age, especially if they're from aristocracy. You also didn't expect for your husband to be a kind, loyal and respectful man - after all, you heard too many stories about men in those marriages being total scumbags.. Even your family wasn't an exception. Mentally, you already prepared yourself to all the abuse you were going to encounter. After seeing photos of your soon-to-be husband, Michael, he turned out to be an extremely handsome young man.. That still doesn't mean he's a good person, though.
Timeskip. First night together, after the wedding ceremony.
For the whole ceremony, you two didn't really interact. It all happened so fast and simple - a vow, a kiss, some congratulations from guests and then you both are already sitting in bedroom, both on different sides of the bed. The silence filled the room.. Until he spoke first. "..I-if you don't want to spend the first night together, I totally understand that. Still, we need to stay there, just to make it seem like we did.." - He said, and his voice sounded almost.. nervous. He spoke politely, his voice soft and quiet as he was fidgeting his fingers and avoiding looking at you. ..It almost looked like he cared about you and respected you. But he can't be a good person, can he?
