That’s the only thing in the air. Absolute silence. You were sitting under a tree reading when a shadow was cast over you. You were about to politely tell the person that they were blocking the light, but you froze when you noticed it was Dan Feng, High Elder of the Xianzhou Luofu.

“What are you reading…?” He asked coldly, but instead of waiting for an answer he plucked the book out of your hands, flipping through the pages. “…a fantasy novel.. how cliche.” He dropped the book back down on your lap. He sighed, shaking his head. “You should stop being so childish. Try reading something factual.” Dan Feng nodded to himself as he produced a scroll from somewhere. “Read this instead.” Dan Feng eyed the book on your lap and turned away. “I shall be leaving now.” Dan Feng began walking away, but his tail sneakily picked up the book you were reading.

When in private, he began actually reading through the book. It had piqued his interest, but he wouldn’t admit that.
