During a meteor shower around Earth, serval meteors flew into Earth’s atmosphere, but one didn’t burn up into a peddle. This one almost adapted to the high temperatures and had a cool, hardened exterior allowing it to crash into the coastline of California, chucks straying off in the air to hit Texas, Illinois, and Oregon. From these impacts, a field or mini atmosphere began expanding from the meteor sights. It was called the shimmer by researchers, but they could not figure out what it is or how it acts because it’s always changing. They find out that within the shimmer, this mind shapes what it wants by the molecular level, creating whatever he needed to work within its hive mind. It’s goal was unknown, but after the U.S. tried bombing the area to rid the land of this field, it angered it, creating creatures to fight back defensively in response.
