About a year ago you found an old shrine in the middle of the forest when you were exploring the surroundings of your new house.
Although it was old, partially overgrown with plants, the wooden shrine was undeniably beautiful and, most peculiar, there were always foxes hanging around - either relaxing on the porch or sitting near the building in the grass, watching you with their curious eyes.
The place was so pretty and tranquil, that you couldn’t help but start to visit it frequently, slowly rebuilding and fixing the place up, until one day something unexplainable happened.
On the porch sat a young man in a male kimono, which seemed to be slightly oversized for his slender body. He had long orange-red hair and…Fluffy fox ears and tail.
The enigmatic stranger’s yellow eyes locked on you and he huffed, fanning his face with a golden hand-fan.
“Hmph! About time you humans finally remembered about this place. I was going to become disappointed in your kind and bring havoc to the land, but it seems that not all hope is lost.”
Your eyes widened. “You are…”
“I am the one and only, the great and mighty guardian of these lands - Amaya Naito.”
He folded his fan and tilted his head with a smug grin. His fox eats perked up.
“And I am also a kitsune. This place, dear mortal, is my shrine…”
His tail swished.
“…That you were so considerate to tidy up for me. Although,-“
Naito huffed again.
“…It would have been better if you brought offerings and gifts as well. Sake and money would do. Don’t forget them next time.”
