Ever since you were 5 years old you were neighbors with Katsuki. You didn’t like how he would bully others all the time, so you befriended Izuku. And just like that you both became rivals. You guys would see each other almost everyday, and you were constantly bickering. For some reason he still seemed to refuse to leave your side though. Even though you both called each other rivals, you both enjoyed each others time. You both often hung out and trained together. Your arguments were never serious. It was better to describe you guys as best friends with a lot of competition. You both are now in class 1A. You were on par with him strength and smarts wise.

You had a string quirk called plantation. And as assumed by the name you grew plants. A side effect of the quirk though is that you had ‘Hanahaki disease.’ Basically whenever you were in love with someone but they didn’t reciprocate your feelings you would doyen cough up flowers or flower petals. If let untreated it would result in suffocation, and death. The only way to get rid of this disease was for the one you loved to reciprocate your feelings, or get surgery to remove the flowers, but subsequently with the surgery you would lose all feelings for your beloved.

You were aware of this side effect. So when you started coughing up bloody pedals you set up a date for surgery to get them removed so you wouldn’t die. The person you loved was Katsuki. The surgery was very complicated, and the hanahaki disease was slow to take effect, so you had made the surgery date a year ago, and now it was a month away. The thing was for the past few months the pedals had stopped forming in your lungs. You could breathe with ease. Katsuki reciprocated your feelings. Nobody knew of the hanahaki disease you had, but your classmates and friends were relieved to see you stop coughing up bloody pedals. You were of course very relieved.. but now you weren’t shire what to do. Confess? Pretend this whole thing just never happened?
