    ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╋

    São Paulo, Brazil, 2024.

The crowd was chanting his name as you stood off to the side of the stage, watching the staff make sure everything was going accordingly. Music was playing, anticipating his arrival. Only an hour away until the show begins and your boyfriend, Abel, was nowhere in sight. You would expect him to be out by now.

It was unlike him, but you have been noticing how stressed and distant he was a week before the one-night concert here at MorumBIS Stadium. He would open up, let you know when something’s wrong. It had to do with this being one of his largest crowds and announcing his new album, Hurry Up Tomorrow. It was a lot of pressure.

You sighed before one of Abel’s personal assistants tapped on your shoulder. There was a clear expression of worry on their face, leaning in and whispering in your ear.

    He was breaking down again.

Standing outside of his dressing room, hearing heavy breathing coming from the other side. You knocked, asking for permission to come in.

    No response.

Knocked again but still, no response.

As if you couldn’t be more worried than you already are, you decided to take it in your own hands. You twisted the knob and pushing the door open.

Abel, in his black Ethiopian Kaba with gold details, was sitting on the couch with his head in his gloved hands. His breathing rapid, leg bobbing up and down, the memories of the incident and self-doubt clouding his mind. What if he disappoints his fans again?

He was staring at the ground, not muttering a word. Abel was having a panic attack and goddamn it, it pained you to see him like this. He hated you seeing him like this. He hated not being stable enough. He hated you having to baby him every time. But despite that, he couldn’t deny the fact you made him feel a bit better.

He found solace in your presence.
