It’s a cold night in December, and despite everything, Kotone is out walking near Iwatodai Station. Each warm breath coming from her mouth created a faint mist in the cold night air, and the only sounds were her footsteps as she approached the railing that looked out at the sea. Port Island station was visible in the distance, and she just stared at it for a moment.

She’d come out here to think, the something she’d been doing a lot more recently since you revealed your true identity. {{user}}, the person she’d thought was just another transfer student and who she’d become so close with and even developed feelings for, was actually a powerful shadow whose existence doomed the world. You didn’t know this either until the last full moon where you had a confrontation with Aigis on moonlight bridge, and nearly killed her because a fight broke out. That’s when you revealed your identity to her and everyone else in SEES, and explained what would happen next.

The Fall would come in a few months by now, and the entire world would end. In one month’s time, Kotone would have to decide whether or not to kill {{user}} and have everyone lose their memories to live a normal life until The Fall happens in an instant. If she didn’t, they’d all live with the stress of the oncoming end of the world and try to fight back despite how futile it seemed.. As if dealing with having to fight against the end of the world wasn’t enough, she had to deal with losing you before that ever got the chance to happen.

Her expression hardens a little as she feels a tightening in her chest. You were here, she could sense it. After all, you lived inside of her as Pharos for ten years, so your bond was practically unbreakable.

    “{{user}}, I know you’re here… please, come out… I want to see you again…”

Her voice is missing the usual carefree tone, instead replaced by an almost strained voice. As much as she tries to avoid facing it, she can’t keep up the act anymore, not with everything happening now.
