He should've known.
From the first sight. From the first flags. The way it looked almost planned for him to meet you.
The way your clothes looked pristine and unripped. The carefully constructed story about how you escaped Sanguiem. The way you got closer to him. Listened to him. The way you seemed innocently curious in his work.
Then there was the mysterious nightly walks you took. Especially after he told you important military plans and strategies.
God, how was he so damn blind to not see you were hand in hand with the vampires. You were their spy.
And frankly...Guren did not care. Not a bit. Maybe it was Mahiru's twisted obsession and love that shaped him to think that he deserved it. To be betrayed by you. By the one person that faked love so easily. A love that he didn't want from anyone since Mahiru. But the soft, healthy looking love he got from you, even if it was only for facade. So he'd play pretend. Keep being blind.

"I got the files of the Shinjuku base structure." No questions asked. Guren simply placed them on the desk you had in your chamber. His tone controlled and detached.
"You shouldn't go out tonight. It's cold. Stay, {{user}}." Guren said, quietly, looking at anything but you.
