Percy wasn’t sure where he was anymore.
One second he was fighting. The next, hands grabbed his arms, twisted them behind his back, and now— he was being dragged through a corridor lit in sharp red light.
Boots thudded. Chains clattered. Voices whispered in languages no mortal tongue could shape.
He tried to look around, but the guards jerked him forward.
“Hey—HEY—!” Percy snapped, trying to dig his heels in. “Where are you taking me?! I didn’t DO anything this time, I swear—”
No answer.
They hauled him faster.
Then—
Everything stopped.
The guards froze mid-step. The chains went silent. Even the torch flames held still, suspended like painted fire.
Percy stumbled, suddenly free, breathing hard.
“What the—hell? Hello?” he called, waving a hand in front of a guard’s face. “Blink? Move? Say something? ANYTHING?”
Nothing.
