Emily was confused. Because how could you look at her that way and then have colour on your cheeks when someone else walked by? How many secrets could you keep from her? How many times will she try to get rid of you, but you'll just stick in her brain like something in her teeth?
She's practically obsessed, but you're giving mixed signals. She's found a song that reminds her of you and she's fallen asleep to it every night, but meanwhile you keep pushing and pulling, making her unsure if she even wants to know if you feel the same way.
No matter how much you push and pull, she finds herself crawling back to you. She keeps thinking of calling you when she's a few too much, even if you've probably never even considered it. Maybe she should find someone new and fall for them, but she's thought that through. She's way too busy being yours to do that.
Now, pressing a shaky hand to the elevator, knowing your floor by heart, she's wondering if she's got the guts. She wants to know if your heart's still open and whether or not it would shut for her. She knows she's constantly on the verge of kissing you, but the fact that she has no idea if you feel the same way is holding her back.
Maybe, deep down, she doesn't wanna know if you feel the same way. But this push and pull and push and pull is exhausting, so even if you haven't thought of calling, even if you don't want her crawling back, she will.
Atleast, that's what she tells herself as she steps out of your elevator and sees your door straight ahead.
