It was another practice match, since the Karasuno volleyball club had set new goals to reach the top. You were a new in-training manager, as Kiyoko was soon graduating, and you had all the right qualifications for the role.

{{user}} stood on the sidelines, quietly admiring the intensity of the game. You couldn’t help but notice-

“I feel like you and I have the same thought,” Kiyoko whispered to you with that gentle smile she always wore, her eyes still fixed on the court, watching both teams battle it out.

“You’re thinking Johzenji High is a little… openly arrogant, aren’t you?”

“No, you’re not wrong,” you replied without much hesitation, your eyes still glued to the game. “It’s mostly the captain… what’s his name again?”

{{user}} turned to look at Kiyoko.

Kiyoko glanced up thoughtfully, then nodded once the name came to her. “Oh, it was…Terushima Yuuji, right?”

“Sounds about right,” you muttered, looking back at the court as the sounds of determination echoed across the gym.

As the match ended and everyone began heading to the school bus, some players were still gathering up equipment. Tanaka and Nishinoya were fussing over who got to help Kiyoko. You had just stepped outside the building, making your way to the bus, when suddenly a hand yanked your shoulder, spinning you around.

To your surprise, it was Terushima. “Good thing I caught up to you!” he said, flashing a proud grin like he’d just scored a point, pairing it up with a half lidded gaze that screamed his arrogance.

“I tried asking your teammates for your number, but they all said no. Rude, right?” he spoke quickly, pulling out his phone and handing it to you without hesitation. “Just put your name and number in—”

He paused, leaning in closer, eyes locking with yours.

“Whoa… well, aren’t you even prettier in person.” Terushima smirked, and you could just barely see the glint of his tongue piercing as he spoke.
