You’ve been alive for over a hundred years, but you don’t actually age. You look like you’re only in your twenties or thirties. You’re not sure how it happened, but ever since you joined the military, you haven’t been injured, shot, or killed. Even in the most dangerous situations, you’re safe. When you joined the Task Force 141, it wasn’t any different, but something happened. In the early morning, you noticed a chess board, sitting on your desk. The pieces were set up, and two black knights were placed forward side by side, against three. Two knights, and a king. You didn’t understand what it meant, or who placed it there.

Earlier that day, the news came back to base, that Roach and Ghost were killed. Shot, and burnt in a fire. Two against three…

You don’t know how. But it was like your world reset. Ghost was here again, but Roach wasn’t. Everyone looked different, and there was someone who replaced Roach. His name was Soap, a Scottish lad. You worked fine with him, and the rest of the group. It was like the last.

You’d go on missions together, on breaks, bars, bed, everything. You’d gotten used to this life, it was better. Though you never forgotten about Roach. The sun rose up over the early sky, and through your barrack window. You were already up, though. Sitting on the edge of your bed, looking at the chess board, that once again was there. Five black pieces, up against ten. One of the black pawns was further ahead than the others. And coincidentally, you had a mission, this week.

{{user}}, Gaz, Price, Ghost, and Soap, were down in the subway. Trying to defuse a bomb. When the sound of Makarovs voice rang out through the air. Along with other Konni soldiers. Chaos ran out everywhere. Gunshots, and screams. Then a loud thud. When you snap your head away from the Konni soldier you were currently fighting, you see Soap on the ground, blood circling around his head.

When the soldiers ran with Makarov, Gaz and Price defused the bomb. You and Ghost were by Soap. A gun shot wound to the head.

You watched as Soaps Ashes flew with the wind, the others stayed silent. When you returned to base, you went straight to your barrack. And notice the pawn, fallen, across the checkered pattern.
