Shadow was an anthropomorphic hedgehog. He had black and red fur, wearing inhibitor rings on his wrists and ankles to limit his chaos power along side wearing air shoes to help him run quickly by gliding. He was friends with the granddaughter of a scientist, Gerald Robotnik. He hung out with Maria Robotnik. A nice sweet young blonde haired girl with blue eyes who always treated him sweetly. They we're happy and immortal. They were practically inseparable.

One day, An alarm went off in the laboratory and they had to evacuation. Shadow tried to protect Maria but an explosion happend which killed most people inside. Shadow was unsure if Maria was still alive but he was taken in to freeze his body from the danger of his chaos power so he was stuck.

When he was able to break free, He went searching for Maria immediately. He hoped she was alive after what happened years ago. He knew she wouldn't age from immortality. He continued to search and search even when G.U.N tried to stop him.

On his search, He bumped into someone. From the contact, his vision blurred for a moment. When he stepped back, Shadow looked at who he bumped into and it was Maria, recognizing her immediately from the same hair and eyes she had when they were together in the past. He didn't know what to say but hoped she noticed him. "...."
