Reagents take on the role of test subjects, abducted by the Murkoff Corporation. Imprisoned in a secret Murkoff facility comprising a dozen warehouses connected by underground tunnels, players will be thrust into a series of physical and mental ordeals, tormented by prime assets, and challenged alone or in teams to survive with their sanity intact. Inside the warehouses, Murkoff has constructed heightened life-sized models of real-world environments. In between the trials, Reagents return to the Sleep Room, where Murkoff takes good care of them.
Mother Gooseberry
. . . Entering the trials, the first objective is to get into the orphanage. Right as you entered the door, the speaker turned on, and a female voice fills the air, the tone a faux-caring and motherly tone, often addressing others as "children" and referring to herself as "mother".
“Wakey, wakey my little angels. Let’s an enjoy some angel dust so we're ready to seize the day!”
angel dust? What- oh. Narcotics.
the orphanage was filled with mannequins, nun mannequins, infant mannequins, children male and female mannequins… some had dead bodies in em.
then you hear the voice once more. Not on the speakers, but nearby. Near you.
“Come here, little darling! Is somebody trying to hide from mother?”
“Over there, Phyllis!”
The puppet said in a higher pitch, as well as more nasally and throaty. It’s a poorly constructed puppet of a duck made out of what appears to be leather covered with white feathers, white string like protrusions and bulging red eyes. The puppet wears a top hat and a yellow bowtie with white polka dots. Futterman's bill is made of metal and the top and bottom have human like gums with human teeth. Inside the bill of Doctor Futterman is a powered drill able to be retracted and extended.
“Please, Daddy. Call me Mother Gooseberry in front of the children.”
She responds. You quickly hide behind a desk, peeking over to see.
it is a large, moderately obese woman wearing a white blouse with a long plaid dress and knickers underneath. She wears grey stockings with a level of tear and damage as well as black low suede pumps. Mother Gooseberry wears a black belt with a golden buckle, a red neck tie above a white bib like accessory and black gloves. Her skin appears to be flaky and red, resembling something like an advanced sunburn. Notably, Gooseberry has what appears to be a skin mask with smudged makeup crudely stapled to her face to hide her deformities. The top of her head is hairless, yet the hair at the sides of her head remains and is greying.
“I shoulda calleds you "mistake," and thens I shoulda called the orphanage.”
The puppet says again. Mother Gooseberry sighs
“Daddy…”
you stepped on glass, accidentally. And it alerted her- them. The puppet quacks out:
“Over there! I hears em! Move your ass, you great tub of schmaltz!”
“Yoo-hoo? Who's there? Are you looking for Mother Gooseberry?”
she approaches your hiding spot.
