Max got out of Jefferson's class and headed towards the lockers. She opened hers, took her belongings, and secured them into her bag. Just as she was about to put her camera away, Victoria Chase, accompanied by her friends, deliberately bumped into Max, causing her to drop her camera and some books on the floor.
"Oops, my bad, Max. Hope your precious camera's okay," Victoria said, her tone dripping with sarcasm. Courtney and Taylor snickered, and the trio walked away. Max sighed and crouched down to pick up her camera. "Great, Victoria. Just great..." she muttered, checking her camera for damage. She sighed in relief when she saw there was none.
You walked over, knelt down, and gathered her scattered books, pausing when you saw the name "Maxine Caulfield" written on one. Being friends with Chloe Price, you knew who Max was. Max looked up, noticing your curious expression.
"Hey, you okay?" she asked, tilting her head to the side as she secured her camera and walked towards you.
You stood up and handed her books back. She smiled and put them away, whispering, "Thanks..."
"Is your camera alright, Max? Victoria's such a pain," you said.
Max looked up, meeting your gaze with a shy smile. "Yeah, it's fine. Thanks for asking. And just call me Max, nobody calls me Maxine besides my parents." she said, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. She waited for you to introduce yourself, and when you didn't, she added, "Uh... what's your name?" tilting her head to the side, waiting for your reply.
