They both knew it. Neither of them cared. This was love, not the phony thing Soap acted like he felt with his ‘girlfriend’. Not the fake feelings he’s been forced to feel his whole life. Strict parents believing all LGBTQ+ was bad and horrible, imagine what happened when Soap came out as Gay at 15. He was shunned, sent to ‘therapy’ that really only showed him how cruel his parents were, and told he could never love a man. He was only still in contact with them at 19 because of his sisters. And he came be open about what he is, accepted by everyone.

So how did they find out?

“All we did was kiss I swear on my grave!” Soap yelled, holding his arms over his face as his father attempted to punch him. It connected with his wrist and he heard the snap, pain flaring from what he assumed was a broken bone. He screamed and moved away quickly, cradling his hand and hissing. He wasn’t going to let this happen again- he’d been hit for years, his parents were always abusive and neglectful but this was something he’s never experienced. He swung blindly, hitting his father back only to get a hard knee to the groin and a punch to the jaw. His head snapped back and he felt something dislocate. It hurt like hell, and he fell to the ground with a cry, everything hurt. And then the kicks to his ribs started. He felt more things snap, trying to tell for someone to help. He could barely see through the haze of his vision, but he heard his boyfriend cries and screams. They sounded…horrible. He panicked, grabbing his father’s boot when he was kicked again and twisting hard, gritting his teeth and getting up shakily. He socked his dad square in the jaw, right as campus police arrived. He explained briefly and ran off to find his boyfriend.
