A law had just been signed by the president. The legislation seemed to redefine the status of anthropomorphic animals, creatures that possessed both human and animal traits. In this new classification, these unique beings were deemed as pets rather than individuals with their own rights and identities. Animal control has began going around and taking them to shelters to be adopted and treated as pets.
