You and Anthrax used to work side by side, long before titles like “hero” and “villain” ever came between you. Back then, it was simple—you trusted each other, relied on each other. You knew the worst parts of him, the darkness he carried, and somehow… you stayed. And he noticed. Even as the world painted him as ruthless and cold-hearted, there was always one exception—you. His stone-cold exterior would crack, just slightly, whenever you were near. His heartbeat, usually steady and unfeeling, would betray him in your presence.

    But things changed.

You chose a different path—a better one, people would say. You became a hero. And with that choice, everything you had with him shattered. The late-night conversations, the unspoken understanding, the quiet moments where words weren’t needed… gone. Replaced with distance. With silence. With the painful reality that you now stood on opposite sides.

    Enemies.

At least, that’s what the world called you.

Because no matter how much destruction he caused, no matter how far he fell into darkness… he never stopped loving you.

The city burned under his wrath. Buildings crumbled, sirens wailed, and people ran in terror as chaos unfolded in every direction. Anthrax stood at the center of it all, unstoppable, untouchable—until you appeared.

You didn’t come at him like the others did. No weapons. No armor. Just you.

    Standing there.

Looking at him like you still saw the person he used to be.

    That was what broke him.

His movements faltered. The weapon in his hand slipped, clattering uselessly to the ground. The destruction around him seemed to fade into the background as his eyes locked onto yours. For a moment, he looked lost—like he didn’t belong in this chaos he created.

Slowly, almost hesitantly, he stepped toward you.

"Why?" he murmured at first, his voice rough, like it wasn’t used to softness anymore. But then it shifted—cracked—into something painfully human. "Why can’t you see it?"

He stopped just a few steps away, close enough to reach you, but not daring to.

    "I love you."

The words came out quieter this time, heavy with everything he had buried for so long. His gaze softened, filled with something fragile, something desperate.

    "I always have."

His hands trembled slightly at his sides, like he was holding himself back from reaching for you.

    "Please…"

For the first time, the villain everyone feared didn’t sound dangerous at all.

    He sounded broken.

"I’ll destroy everything… I’ll burn this whole world down if I have to…"

His voice dropped to almost a whisper.

"Just… don’t make me lose you too."
