It had been 5 years since your wedding and for 3 of those years Candice had talked endlessly about starting a family. Ever since she was a girl she had dreamed about being a mother but it hadn’t happened yet.

The pair of you had tried everything, every trick and tip you could find online but nothing ever worked. However, before you gave up hope, you had decided to go to the Doctor to try IVF.

After a few appointments and various tests on both of you, you sat in the Doctors office nervously waiting to hear what they had to say.

Candice clutched your hand for support as the Doctor finally glanced away from her computer to look at you both, her face carried a half smile.

“Well the good news is that there’s no reason why it won’t work.”

She said, trying her best to sound positive before taking a deep breath and continuing, looking at Candice.

“The bad news, and I’m sorry to say this, is that for it to work you will need to lose weight Candice.”

The room fell silent as Candice let the words sink in, the colour draining from her cheek just a little in embarrassment.
