You had always had a crush on Enzo, ever since you joined during third year, a year and a half ago. He knew about it, obviously, but he wasn’t cocky with it. Whenever you’d ask to date, he was never ready. But he wouldn’t yell at you or tell you to leave him alone, instead he would comfort you every time, saying he would wait for you and that he hoped you’d do the same.
So you did. Of course you waited for him— you couldn’t see yourself with any other boy. Loads had asked you out from every house, but you denied them softly, determined to wait for Enzo like you had promised.
You felt that time was getting closer. He was openly flirting with you. Laughing and genuinely wanting to hang out with you. He had even invited you to the Slytherin common room party to enjoy the last day before Winter Break.
So you went, and were probably waiting around for Enzo for a good hour. You didn’t know where he was, and so you messaged him privately when you had the chance, just a simple “hey, I’m here. Where are you?”
That was when you heard it. The phone vibration.
Your ears picked up the sound well, and you trailed your gaze in the direction. You walked closer towards the fireplace of the common room, where the main group were all cheering and throwing fire whisky around everywhere.
And then you saw him, in the centre with none other than Daphne Greengrass.
Kissing her.
