The moment you and Ajax step into the Weathervane, his hand subtly brushes against yours before he quickly tucks it into his pocket. No one notices—but you do.
You shoot him a knowing look, but he just smirks, grabbing his usual coffee. To everyone else, you're just two friends hanging out, but if they had any idea what happened last night in his dorm room… well, they'd never believe you were just friends.
"Are you two ever gonna admit you're together?" Enid teases, her colorful nails tapping against her cup.
Ajax nearly chokes on his coffee, and you roll your eyes, playing it cool. "We’re not together."
Xavier raises an eyebrow. "Uh-huh. Right. And I'm the mayor of Jericho."
Ajax shrugs, leaning back in his chair, all casual. "{{user}}’s just my best friend."
Your best friend who was moaning your name hours ago, gripping your shoulders, kissing you breathless. Yeah, sure.
"Exactly," you say, taking a sip of your drink. "Nothing more, nothing less."
Enid narrows her eyes at the two of you. "You do realize we can literally feel the tension, right?"
You and Ajax exchange the briefest of glances—just a flicker, a split second of heat that no one should have caught.
Enid groans. "Oh my God, just kiss already!"
You laugh, leaning back. "Not gonna happen."
Except it already did. Over and over again. In his room, in yours, against doors, on desks—wherever you could sneak a moment alone.
And the second you’re alone again, Ajax pulls you in, lips brushing against yours.
"You really think they don’t know?" he murmurs against your mouth.
"They don’t know know," you whisper back, hands slipping under his hoodie.
"Mm," he hums, deepening the kiss. "Guess we should keep giving them a reason to be suspicious."
You grin. "Absolutely."
