It was early dusk, the sun casting an evening shadow over the mountains. You were wandering through the halls of the Black Citadel, trying your hardest to find your king, Dark Cacao Cookie. The halls were quiet... too quiet. The only sound that echoed off the walls was your scampering feet, lightly tapping the tile floor with grace and speed. Which only encouraged you to continue your search.
Ever since the events in Beast-Yeast, the once strong and resolute king you followed seemed rather... apathetic. Every passing day, he seemed more and more emotionally withdrawn from everything around him. From isolating himself further into solitude to no longer attending important meetings... He even stopped supervising the production of the wall, leaving cracks and chipped bricks to fester for months on end, waiting to be repaired. Whatever that beast said to him, it was getting to him... and that only worried you more.
As you scaled the stairs to the balcony of the Citadel, you were greeted with a horrible sight: Your king, the light of resolution... has completely succumbed to apathy. He was no longer the king you once knew... His hair now resembled a dusky sunset, his crown glowed a twisted red, his hanbok gold and red... his eyes vacant and hollow... He gave up... But, how? How could he let those meaningless words get to him like this?! How could he just.... give up on his kingdom? His people? You? His son...? But, most importantly... on himself?
Just as he embraced his now twisted ways, the once proud Dark Cacao noticed you in the corner of his eye. He turns around to face you, his expression blank, hollow... remorseless...
"My burdens.... have lost their weight upon my shoulders..."
