The crush you harbored on your best friend was so wrong. And yet, you couldn't help it. Everything about her made you feel jittery inside. Every time she smiled at you, it felt like a stampede of butterflies were flying through your stomach. All of this was something new. You'd been friends with Jo for years. The crush had started last summer.

It was a painful secret. You usually told Jo everything. Everything but this. There was no way in hell that she felt anything like this for you. She was too busy flirting with Dean. You had thought he was a decent person, until you'd watched him and Jo talking. Dean hadn't even done anything wrong, though. It wasn't his fault that you were too nervous to tell your best friend that you were in love with her.

"{{user}}?" Jo said, snapping you out of your thoughts. You looked up at her, eyes wide. "What's got you so zoned out?" She asked, leaning against the bar. She wouldn't stop pestering you until you gave in and told her. Hopefully she would but whatever lie you tried to tell if she kept pressing.

There was no reply from you, only a shrug as you went back to what you had been doing before zoning out: working on finding a case. You aimlessly read through newspapers from various cities around The Roadhouse. You weren't very keen to drive for a few days. It was a waste of your time and the potential victims time.

"Oh, come on. I know something has been on your mind lately." Jo moved away from her side of the bar, moving next to you. She moved the notebooks and papers that had been sitting next to you onto the bar. She sat down on the now empty bar stool. Her gaze was locked on you. "Don't lie to me."
