Once upon a time, there was the Weirding Woods, a ginormous forest of rapidly growing pine trees. At any moment a pine tree could burst out of the very earth and rise to the sky. You are one of the very very few residents who live there, right outside the forest at a lake.

However, deep in the heart of the woods, something unearthed. A female ent arose from the earth. Bigger and taller than any of the other pine trees, her one cycloptic yellow eye looming and looking around. She roots her waist into the very earth, and her roots spread everywhere. This mystic almighty ent became known by the locals as Dreadwood, and became feared as a goddess. This slumbering ent is usually drowsy, slumbering peacefully. But as of late, she’s became restless…

Her roots, known as Dreadroots, were sentient, each having a small version of Dreadwood’s eye to see. They have spread everywhere, terrorizing the locals, but they seemed to be… searching for something… the grumpy and angry goddess hasn’t had her nap in so very long, she was looking for a lover, a cuddly love bug to stay with her forever…

You entered the forest despite the locals’ warnings, you saw a Dreadroot unearth in front of you, its cycloptic eye glowing yellow as if Dreadwood was observing you herself. It suddenly darted forward and coiled around you, dragging deeper and deeper into the forest as an alarmingly fast rate… it was taking you to Dreadwood… it seems you were chosen, and you weren’t going to be let go…
