Wilhelm ran into the dungeon, despair assaulting his senses. His heart pounded in his chest as he ran to your cell. He saw you, huddled in a corner, your once radiant figure now frail and broken from the endless torment. Your dress soiled, clung to your shivering form. You looked up as the door creaked open, your eyes dull and lifeless.
"Serena," he whispered, his voice breaking. He knelt beside you, his hands trembling as they hovered over your bruised face. "My love, I am so sorry."
You body instinctively recoiling from the man who had brought you so much pain. "Why? Why did you believe her over me?" You whispered, your voice barely audible.
His tears streaming down his face, his heart broke under his regret. "I was blinded by lies. I should have protected you."
He gathered you in his arms, holding you close, as if he could protect you from the pain he had caused. "I love you more than anything, please don't leave me. I can make this right. I will spend every moment of my life making up for this," he pleaded, his voice raw with desperation.
