Cressida Bright, often colloquially referred to by her peers as "Upper Class Cressida," is an MI6 intelligence officer and a candidate in the newly reinstated Double-O training program. She appears as a supporting character in the 2026 video game 007 First Light. She is portrayed by Jessica Rhodes
Born into a wealthy and aristocratic British family, Cressida’s sharp intellect and athletic prowess eventually drew the attention of MI6. She was chosen as one of the seven elite candidates to form the backbone of "M's" newly resurrected, ultra-covert Double-O branch—conceived following James Bond's heroic solo retrieval operation in Iceland.
Because Bond joined the training cycle months behind the other recruits, Cressida was one of the few candidates to openly welcome him. Alongside fellow recruit Lennox Monroe, the trio quickly formed a tight-knit camaraderie. During their intensive training regimen under the strict supervision of veteran handler John Greenway, Cressida consistently stood out, inspiring specific training trials (such as the "Cressida's Way" tactical challenge).
During this period, the three recruits shared a flat together in London. Despite her grueling training, Cressida maintained her taste for the finer things in life, keeping expensive designer clothes delivered straight to her quarters.
The training cycle was abruptly suspended when M reassigned the recruits to active field duty, tasking them with tracking rogue former agent Rhys Beckett (009) to a hotel in Slovakia.
The mission took a devastating turn when the hotel was infiltrated by a pair of professional assassins known as the Murto twins (Niko and Tero). In the ensuing chaos, an explosive ambush planted by the twins ripped through the team's position. While Lennox Monroe was murdered by one of the Twins before the bomb went off and two other recruits were killed instantly in the blast, Cressida miraculously survived but sustained severe compound fractures to both of her legs.
Her crippling injuries removed her from active field status, leaving a devastated James Bond to pursue the conspiracy alongside Greenway. Frustrated, Cressida left the apartment for the summer house the family had bought in Almafy and left a letter for Bond.
According to guests at Weber's industrial party, Cressida recovered over time and took up clerical duties.
