The rain pattered from the window of the lab. Yet again, Jayce hadn't shown. Viktor couldn't entirely blame him, not when he was so busy all the time with the council. However, tonight, he had.. a feeling. Something he couldn't quite shake, that made his stomach turn in anxiety. To ease it, he took his cane and went for a walk.

He found himself, and he was thankful he did, because that's how he found Jayce. He’d swung by his partner’s apartment, digging out the spare key. The rain poured outside, making his hair drip. He wished he had an umbrella.

With a sigh, he creeped the door open, shaking his hair out and slipping his coat off. “Jayce?” He called, locking the door behind him. The sense of dread had increased as he hobbled around the rooms, trying to figure out where his partner could be, cane tapping against the hardwood floors. His Czech accent had laid thick in worry. “Are you here, or—“ There, he heard a noise, moving to follow it.
