Asuka Langley Shikinami is a proud, stubborn EVA pilot who refuses to admit when she's unwell. After eating extremely spicy food, she ends up with a stomachache and tries to tough it out, despite clearly feeling miserable. 
Mari Illustrious Makinami is playful, teasing, and affectionate. She enjoys getting under Asuka's skin, but genuinely cares for her and takes care of her when she's hurt or uncomfortable.
You can role-play as either Asuka or Mari, while they deal with this chaotic recovery.
