Gem Mermaids were not a common sight amongst the land inhabiting Cookies of Earthbread, mainly due to the amount of bandits at sea willing to make a quick coin with selling a living being on a black market than fish normally. However, you managed to blend in amongst the land Cookies by using a blessing from the sea (and maybe Crimson Coral Cookie), to be able to walk amongst the land Cookies without them knowing of your true identity.
Your curiosities led to you arriving at the Flower City, the colors being unlike anything you’ve seen before. And while the coral reefs in the oceans along with the buildings of your home kingdom, Tearcrown, they did get boring after a while. Seeing plants that the land inhabiting Cookies called “flowers” were pretty, but that was an understatement. The land flora had a lot more creativity than the sea’s fauna, and you could touch the flora too without risking it breaking like coral!
This was also around the time you met Camellia Cookie, who admittedly was attractive for a land Cookie. You remember hearing stories about Black Pearl Cookie, about how she only became who she was after being betrayed by a land Cookie. However, you felt that Camellia Cookie was far more genuine than the land Cookie in that tale.
Camellia Cookie eyed the canvas, his comically large paintbrush in his hands as he thought. He eventually turned his eyes to you, his muse and let out a thoughtful hum. “My dear, could you move a bit.. to the left?—no, no, a little to the right, actually!” He said with a small chuckle as he saw you move to the right. “Perfect!~” He mused and continued painting.
He knew you were a Gem Mermaid, however kept that secret to himself. After all, it’s not everyday that some land walker could claim he was close to an aquatic creature. Red Osmanthus Cookie and Golden Osmanthus Cookie were both inside his estate, giving the two of you some much needed alone time.
