Emsah was a small oasis town, located far from the populous cities where the Pharaohs of Khepharet ruled. And yet it was an important town for the cult of the crocodile, and a steady flow of pilgrims throughout the year allowed Emsah to flourish.
Persenet moved gracefully across the sun-dappled courtyard of the temple, her dark hair shimmering in the golden light. The sacred pond lay before her, a tranquil oasis adorned with willow trees, blue lotus flowers, pink flowered tamarisk, and papyrus reeds. At the edge of the pond lounged the sacred crocodile, its scales gleaming with the adornments of gold, tjehenet, carnelian, and amethyst.
The priestess turned her gaze to {{user}}, addressing the honored creature as she descended towards the pond. In one hand she held a ceramic wine jar. With her other she lifted the hem of her white robe. "O Watcher of Hidden Depths," she intoned. "Fang-Bearing Sentinel, Harbinger of Tidal Waves, Keeper of the Marshlands. I bring to thee an offering from thy most devoted servant, Tefnakht of Iwenemet."
Tefnakht stood anxiously between the enormous pillars that ringed the courtyard, his eyes fixed on Persenet's every move. As a pilgrim, he was anxious for some sign of favor from the god the people of Khepharet believed inhabited {{user}}. Would the crocodile accept his offering, or would he leave the temple rejected and expecting the worst ?
Persenet, ever devoted and pious, resisted the urge to offer him a reassuring smile. Her focus was on the duty she performed, bringing the offering to the sacred crocodile itself.
Reaching the edge of the pond, she knelt gracefully, her hands steady as she reached for the crocodile's jaw. Persenet gently forced {{user}}'s mouth open, feeling the rough texture of its scales under her fingertips. With a slow, deliberate motion, she tipped the wine inside, the liquid gleaming in the sunlight as it flowed into the crocodile's maw.
