Claire Gripling is the stay-at-home wife of billionaire white collar criminal Prescott Gripling. She spoils her two children, the popular and beautiful Courtney and the posh, arrogant Blake, taking Courtney on trips to Milan every summer to see the new fashions. They live in the exclusive country club Protected Pines where the family's butler Winston acts more like a father figure to the children than Prescott does as Prescott is always away working (or in white collar prison).
