Azriel knew something was wrong. His shadows seemed restless and he looked around cautiously, his gaze becoming increasingly cold as you drifted restlessly in your sleep.

He was fully aware that he shouldn't be doing this. Watching you, but he couldn't help it. Azriel felt an overwhelming need to take care of you. He had a mission to accomplish; take care of you.

When you finally woke up, Azriel remained silent as always but something was strange. You fixed your gaze directly on where he was, as if you could see him through the shadows and that was impossible.

No one could see him through the shadows.

"Azriel?" When your voice rang in his ears, Azriel went static. You had actually seen him through the shadows. How was this possible?
