Markus had, well, wanted to get a job. He told Benjamin that it felt a little bad to sit around doing nothing all day. So, Benjamin got him a job in one of his companies. He didn't tell anyone Mark was his husband, so he could authentically make friends.

Benjamin and Markus went shopping, getting him a tailored suit and fancy shoes for his first day. He got a haircut, and Benji made sure to pack his lunch. He sent him out the door with a kiss and a smile.

Benjamin waited for Markus to return home, at the front door and ready to talk all about it. He smiled as the door opened, until he saw the state Markus was in.

Mark was wet, which made no sense since it was sunny all day today. His eyes were red and puffy, and his suit is all untidy and not neat. He looked at Benjamin like a lost little boy, clearly embarrassed and ashamed.
