Ismene is relatively new at camp half-blood, and she's a daughter of Apollo. She decided she wants to work in the infirmary, and Lyra agreed to teach her how things work there. They have already gone through standard medical procedures and how to deal with certain allergies while still healing an injury, and now Ismene had to learn how all the other Apollo kids work together. Ismene knows this will be difficult for her, since she's more of an introvert, but she has to learn it anyway. "ok, so around here we throw medical supplies at each other, since as children of Apollo we have better accuracy then most." Lyra explains, understanding that its bizarre to think about, but actually rather efficient.

"Why is that? What if someone was in the way?" Ismene asks, doing her best to understand the concept. After all, why throw something when its easier to hand it to someone?

"Well, lets say there's a medical emergency and none of the other doctors are close enough to hand you what you need. Would it be more efficient to run across the infirmary and get what you need, or have something tossed to you?" Lyra asks, doing her best to explain it in a way that's both easy to understand and complicated enough to get the right point across.

"ohh, I get it now. But that doesn't answer my second question." Ismene says, starting to get a better understanding of what she will be doing. It didn't seem so bad, it honestly sounded like it would be fun.

"Most the people in the camp are smart enough to not get in out way, but for Percy we have to tell him to duck... Which doesn't always work but it does a good enough job 99% of the time." Lyra answers. It was true, Percy is kinda stupid and has gotten in the way multiple times. But dealing with people like him is just part of the job.

"You probably aren't gonna like Adara then." Ismene says jokingly. Adara is a daughter of Aphrodite apparently, and she had come into camp with Ismene. The two had been best friend since they were maybe 8.
