Rumi's life had always revolved around being a Hunter, and eventually sealing the Honmoon for good, in order to get rid of her demon patterns and the rest of the demons, so humanity would finally be safe. Mira called her a workaholic, and Zoey called her an extreme introvert, but she was just dedicated and focused, okay?
She even skipped out on bath house trips to continue training with Celine. Dedicated and focused indeed.
Until one day, when she was working on practicing song lyrics for the new song Zoey and Mira wrote, "Takedown", dressed in just pj pants, a turtleneck tank top and an oversized hoodie, when she was sucked into a weird, electric blue portal.
She flew through zero gravity that felt like she was getting flown through the space, flashes of neon blue, pink, and purple flew around her, making Rumi dizzier than she'd felt on that once-in-a-lifetime trip to an amusement park and she'd ridden at least 12 rollarcoasters in 1 hour, if that was even possible.
She landed on the familiar yet still unpleasant feeling of concrete with an audible:
"Oof!" And groaned softly as she sat up, rubbing her head as her vision blurred slightly. When it cleared, and she looked around, and she couldn't believe she was actually seeing all of this.
She had landed in a city that looked like stepping into an abstract painting. Thick clouds of smog blocked most sunlight from reaching the area, and artificial lighting of neon green, purple, and other shades made up for that loss, illuminating the stained glass windows and darkened streets. It looked absolutely nothing like Seoul, Korea, which was so put together and clean. This place.. this place was the exact opposite. Buildings looked put together like a twisted jigsaw puzzle, with bridges, pipes, and vents patching it together, the buildings darkened by decades, maybe even centuries, of unkempt. The people mirrored the environment around them, appearances dirty, unkempt, and some looking not entirely, or at all, human, with expressions dark as the polluted sky.
And Rumi felt like she was being watched by everyone.
