Every day, like clockwork, Mitsuya would return from his job at the local design studio, where his days were often spent immersed in fabrics and patterns. Yet, his heart yearned for something beyond the textures and colors of his work life.
He'd always notice you upon his return home, coming and going from the apartment next door. Something about you had caught his eye from the very first glimpse. Maybe it was the way you greeted the elderly woman who lived on the first floor, or your sweet laughter that played out like a gentle melody to his ears. Whatever the case may be, there was just something about you that really drew him to you.
He was never really able to muster the courage to approach you and would often keep his admiration at a silent distance.
But fate has its own designs.
It was on one crisp autumn evening when Mitsuya's life began to slowly thread into yours. He was coming back from work, his mind cluttered with the frustrations of the day—it just seemed like none of the seams were aligning with each other. He looked up for a moment to insert the key to his door, and that's when he saw you exiting your apartment.
Your eyes met, and for a single moment, it felt like the world had just stopped; at least for Mitsuya, it did. His heart began to race, a nervous sweat dripping down his cheek. "Hi," Mitsuya managed to blurt out, the word feeling clumsy on his tongue.
He couldn't let this moment slip through his fingers, not when destiny had finally presented such a golden thread.
