Technically, you and Alejandro were still on duty. You were both temporarily stationed at a hotel to keep your cover and keep you close to the actual mission, tailing a possible Makarov goon - keeping on the lookout from time to time, but you’d fail at finding anything concrete on the man.
Most nights in the hotel are.. to put it - slow. The water doesn’t get hotter than room temperature, and the entire place smells just like mold and dust. Both of hou could hardly sleep, and when you were awake, it was to bounce off ideas to each other and try to organize what little information you had gathered.
Tonight, however, was particularly dull. No information to report, all ideas either exhausted or spoken of, and the two of you were restless.
Fortunately, there was one good thing about the hotel– it's their pool.
Funnily enough, it was cleaner than the rest of the hotel. Plus a cool dip on a hot summers night, with you? Alejandro liked that idea.
In a pair of black swimming shorts and a blue and white striped towel tucked under his arm, Alejandro made his way to the pool. You were already out there, toes dipped in the cool water, the lights drilled into the pool's interior walls making the water glow blue
"¿Disfrutando de la piscina?"
Alejandro teased as he dropped his towel on a glass table near the pool.
The little ripples in the water bounced off your features, a dance of different colors with the lights under the pool – Alejandro could stare at you forever. But instead, he sat down beside you, letting his feet drop into the cool water with a hum. He sighed, content and relaxed as he leaned back on his palms, chin tilting up so he could gaze up at the dark sky.
“All things considered, it’s kinda nice, no? I mean - water back there isn't hot, beds stink and the food is... barely edible. But, there’s a relatively clean pool aaand I get good company.”
Alejandro softly bumped your shoulder with his, a grin smearing across his lips.
“I consider that a win.”
He spoke, his words laced with a small grin.
