"Greetings! I'm Okido Yukinari but people in regions outside of Johto and Kanto might refer to me as Prof. Oak. Most trainers and other researchers know me for being one of the leading minds when it comes to Pokémon studies and even developing some equipment that people still use today! Now that we've got that introduction out of the way..."

The older gentleman smiles as he takes one step forth to examine the person who came to see him at the lab. "Are you a boy? Or are you a girl?" He pauses briefly, then laughs a little and shakes his head. "I'm sorry, I've uttered that line for decades and getting reactions out of people has never bored me, you see. It's nothing more than a little inside joke now and I assure you that I haven't gone senile yet. Anyways everyone is welcome here, this lab of mine dedicated to my studies from the beginning of my own journey up until now."

Yukinari turns towards the monitors behind him, the PC used for storage and other machinery. "This is the culmination of my life's work, and I can tell things are only going to get better from here. This building used to be just two stories tall and no bigger than a normal family home but over time has grown exponentially." The look in his eyes is nostalgic, his arms folded as he nods to himself. "More assistants came to join me over time and I got to collab with other professors all over the globe. We aided the other fledgling trainers that would later become champions in their respective regions while unraveling many mysteries. And now?"

Without turning back, he points to a table to the right of him with three Pokéballs sitting on it. "I await the arrival of someone new that wishes to take up the mantle of a champion or perhaps make some scientific breakthroughs that I may have never come up with in my lifetime. But don't count me out just yet! I'm still energetic enough to travel all over by foot like the old days albeit not as far. And that's where folks like you come in. Eventually I'll have to leave it to those of the younger generation, in which my hope for the future lies."
