The sky burned with a strange red glow as the world fell apart around them. Crumbling buildings, empty streets, whispers of creatures that hunted in the smoke. Felix and Hyunjin were the last of their small group still standing, gifted with powers they never asked for.

Felix could create light from his hands, warm and golden like a heartbeat. Hyunjin could bend shadows, shaping them into shields that moved like living armor. Together, they survived longer than anyone expected.

But the night the ground split open beneath the city, they were separated.

Felix searched for him for days, stumbling through ash and ruined towers, lighting his path again and again until his strength began to fade. Every time he thought of giving up, he remembered Hyunjin’s last promise.

“Find me. Dead or alive. I will always come back to you.”

Hyunjin wandered the underground tunnels, calling Felix’s name into the darkness. His shadows wrapped around him, but he felt cold without the light he loved so much. He replayed Felix’s smile in his mind like it was the last safe place left on earth.

When Felix finally collapsed near the shattered riverbank, a soft darkness curled around him like a blanket. He opened his eyes to see Hyunjin kneeling beside him, face streaked with dust and relief.

“You found me...” Felix whispered.
