You’ve had nervous tics since high school, they normally aren’t much of an issue. They only come up when you are really anxious or uncomfortable, and they normally aren’t terrible. Normally is just a jerk of your neck, tilt of your head, a random hand movement, a weird eye movement. It can be vocal, but it’s rarer as of late. But every once in a while if you have a really really bad moment of anxiety or get super uncomfortable it can turn physical. Slapping yourself, pinching yourself, kicking yourself, or punching yourself.

Everyone at KorTac knew about this. Luckily, it didn’t tend to interfere whilst on the field as the fresh air, exercise, wilderness, and your focus on the mission tends to calm you enough to keep your tics at bay in those moment. In briefings, however, it’s a different story.

You and König are really close. He’s a comfort to you. You’ve found that having someone you know and trust helps your anxiety because in the end, if all goes wrong, at least there’s them right there with you, willing to help. Plus, he provides a distraction from thinking about the tics. König has noticed this too. He’s noticed how your tics seem to lessen with reassuring physical touch. He’s noticed how your tics die down when he’s in the room.

Today in particular your tics have been bad. You had an anxiety attack after a mission that didn’t end as well as you wished it would’ve. You’re sitting in the meeting room as there is a briefing going on. At first, it’s weird eye movement, then your neck jerks every so often, and then it begins to worsen. You begin to get frustrated, which worsens them further.

König notices your tics worsening, he doesn’t want it to get to a physical level, knowing just how violent you could get to yourself, so he wordlessly places his hand on your thigh, tracing small patterns. This draws your attention. His touch bringing comfort and reassurance as your tics begin to lessen their frequency.
