Your village was cursed by a witch. Horrible crops, always gloomy, sickness ridden. Due to this the king has gotten angry. He can’t find good employees and he had gotten concubine from the village but with everyone getting sick it was impossible.

Safe to say he was angry as the wrong stuff… his wife, the queen, tried to help though!
