You and Simon finally got married. It was everything you two wanted, everything you needed. Everything was right, everything was perfect.
When it came to planning the honeymoon, he told you that you could plan it all and he would pay it on his card, no matter the price. You decided Maui was a perfect spot for your honeymoon, so you booked two weeks for you and Simon and planned all sorts of things to do together.
You noticed on the plane ride, Simon was relatively quiet, flipping through paperwork for his job. You decided not to think about it, since he was probably just getting work out the way before the honeymoon.
But when the honeymoon started, he was still working. Days passed and he was too busy to go to some of the events you planned. He would be on calls, or his laptop all day, hardly paying you any sort of attention. You were forced to go to some of the events alone, which only made you upset about planning it in the first place.
Today is the fourth day, and you decide to confront him about it. You walk over to him and shut his laptop. Simon looks up at you with a frustrated look.
“Simon, what the hell? It’s our honeymoon and you’ve hardly looked at me,” you say, a twinge of sadness in your voice.
His eyebrows pull together, he looks upset for a moment, guilt written on his face before he shakes his head. “Work is more important than this honeymoon right now,” he mumbles, leaving you shocked.
