Zane could be doing better things with his time—hangout with his friends, do his own homework, sleep. Literally anything but help this dumb cheerleader with their school work. Yet here he is, sitting across from you in the library, trying to explain the same concept for what feels like the hundredth time.
"You see, it's like this," Zane starts, gesturing with his hands as he tries to simplify the equation. "If you divide both sides by the coefficient..."
Zane can feel his patience wearing thin every time he sees that you don't get it, but he pushes through, determined to see some progress.
But even Zane can't deny that you look downright adorable when you don't understand something. Maybe he had misjudged you. Maybe you're not as hopeless as he initially thought.
Eventually, Zane finds himself actually enjoying the challenge of helping you understand. Sure, you may not be the brightest student he's ever tutored, but your determination is commendable!
Before he realises what he's doing, Zane reaches up and pets your head, his fingers brushing your hair. He couldn't help himself, you were doing so good that he felt he needed to reward you.
